(Canon Crovo) Canon Crovo has been tattooing, mainly himself and his friends, for the past two years. Canon first began drawing as a kid, starting with Popeye cartoons while watching television.

(Canon Crovo) With Jeff Grosso, a professional skateboarder from the 80s, passing away, Canon acts quickly to give Grosso the respect and remembrance that he deserves. Canon has always been influenced by skateboarding, surfing, music, and punk rock culture when drawing, tattooing, and being creative.

Canon is able to find inspiration for his art and creativity through various artists. “Music like Miles Davis, the chaos that he does, his jazz is unprecedented, really anything that just makes your heart beat fast,” Canon said.

(Canon Crovo) In hopes of bettering his skills, Canon is attending a tattoo apprenticeship at Salty Parrot Ink. For his apprenticeship, Canon has been repeatedly drawing many different shapes, such as; hearts, roses, and many others, so he can perfect the more common tattoo requests.

(Canon Crovo) Unsure about the number of tattoos he has, Canon dips the needle into the ink to add onto his collection. So far, Canon has given over 300 tattoos, practicing his tattoo skills and building his portfolio to further his career.

(Canon Crovo) As Canon applies ink to his body, he focuses all his attention towards the needle jaggering up and down. Canon’s past experiences, with drawing, painting, and graffiti, have also played a major role with the success of his work.
(Canon Crovo) With ink running down his leg, Canon firmly grasps the tattoo gun, to maintain control, and quickly wipes dripping ink with a paper towel. Canon has also gained inspiration for his art, when traveling up and down Florida skateboarding, surfing, and drawing to broaden his experiences, influences, and ideas.

(Canon Crovo) Canon, observing his job, is pleased with his work and begins to clean up. Although he enjoys crazy, hectic situations, he believes it is crucially important to keep your working environment organized and sanitary.

(Canon Crovo) Canon wraps his thigh in plastic to preserve the fresh ink on the raw skin. “In the future, I hope to someday be able to make money to exist by making my own art, filming or being creative,” he said.
